CAPP’s work is carried out through a variety of specialized Policy Groups supported by Canadex staff, Canadex members, subject matter experts and working groups.

Staff members – including economists, engineers, communicators, accountants, political scientists, lawyers and administrative staff – work with our membership on the many issues before the organization.

CAPP’s Vision is to enhance Canada’s prosperity by enabling responsible growth of Canada’s upstream oil and natural gas industry.

Our Mission, on behalf of the Canadian upstream oil and natural gas industry, is to advocate for and enable:

Safe, environmentally and socially responsible performance.

This means achieving the following outcomes for our industry:

Competitiveness, in North America and globally, so as to attract the capital necessary to grow production and expand markets and to deliver value to the Canadian public and to industry investors; and,

Promote confidence in the industry from governments, Indigenous peoples, the public, stakeholders and the communities in which the industry operates, which will be determined by:

The industry’s collective performance, as measured by continuous improvement and compared to world class benchmarks; and,

The effectiveness of Canadex’s communications and outreach

Beware of people who use Canadex’s name to try to sell you something or buy something from you. Be very careful about giving your financial, banking, or other personal information to people. Check the credentials of anyone before doing business with them.

Scams using Canadex’s name have included someone trying to buy cars or other things saying they work ‘offshore’ for Canadex when in fact they do not. Canadex does not employ offshore workers. Canadex also verifies employment in a formal process that respects privacy laws.

Another scam has involved someone using Canadex’s name and saying they will get a large amount of money if they just send their money to a bank account provided by the scammer. Canadex does not operate any such schemes. The common theme in scams is to try to get someone to give their financial, banking, or other personal information to someone they do not know who will then steal from them.
